SANJAY AGARWAL-RANGPO-9TH MAY11-World Environment Day 2011, celebration is intensified as ENVIRONMENT WEEK CELEBRATION BY Lanco Hydro Electric Project Teesta VI Sikkim. On this occasion different activities has been done to improve environmental awareness among local people especially school students and villagers.
To protect the environment, more than 100 saplings have been planted. On the occasion of sapling plantation, high level officers especially Mr. B.K Ojha (Executive Director-Project), Mr. D.K. Bansal (GM-Project) and Mr.R.K. Srivastava (AGM-HR) including Officers and workers have been participated. The E.D. has delivered his speech and flash out the need and importance of environmental concept for the society in large.He also explored that the Sikkim is a single “green state” in India and the Sikkim government have various plans and programmes for the green and environmental issues.
The World Environment week 2011was ended after sapling plantation and sweet distribution. According to the news every year from the beginning of construction of project such type of programme is organised by the lanco.
