NEW TECNOLOGY OF CULTIVATION WAS EXIBITED AT MAJHITAR FARM

The horticulture farm at majhitar east Sikkim has developed the new technique named drip irrigation technology for the cultivation of tomato .Mr. j n giri giving details about this new technique asked that for the tomato cultivation the water must be given in the root only. Single drop of water dropped in the steam or leaf shall disturbed in growing the plant and shall covered several type of diseases which cause no tomato in the plant. This technology must be implempted only in green house. Some days ago while in Kathmandu visit he seen this type of technique and has decided to test this technology in the home state. after returning back the technique was developed and seen 100%sucess.this time this technique is in single peace and in only have at majhitar farm.mr giri feels it’s a good technique and shall provide special support to the cultivators of tomato in the state.mr giri giving details regarding the majhitar horticulture farm asked that it’s a modal farm in the state. This farm or nursery is used as research and trial centre for the new technology and cash crops, fruits and vegetables. The Sikkim government has targeted the Sikkim to make organic and self dependent state for which the state government is working and given special emphasize to the farming. Several types of seedlings are already purchased from the Thailand and are planted at majhitar farm. If success more saplings shall be purchased for the farmers of the state. Except this work this farm is active in the nursery also. More than one lakh sapling is produce by this farm every year like orange sapling from 40 -50000 piece,guova hybrid culture 4-5ooo,papaya sapling-20000,banana through tissue culture -50000 every year and is going throughout the state .
