coordination meeting was held at Regu BAC Conference Hall at Rongli on May 24 where different agendas regarding academic, SSA grants for the year 2011-2012, HCM’s visit and others were discussed. The program was attended by Chador Bhutia, Assistant Director HRDD, Regu BAC and Head Masters of 36 Schools along with CRCs under Regu BAC.
Chador Bhutia informed all the school heads about the about the training of the teachers for the better education system in Sikkim. He said those teachers who had completed CPE, Crash courses and 42 days training has to undergo Diploma in Elementary Education, a two year correspondence course. While the newly appointed teachers and the untrained teachers should undergo regular In-service Training by 2015 with 50 % basic pay shut down. He further said the deducted amount would be used for the salary of the replaced Adhoc teacher in their place. The training is mandatory for teachers below 55 years, he further said.
Financial assistance in medical studies for the students of the teachers was also announced. Effective implementation of CCE and lesson plan/lesson diary mandatory for teachers was also talked. Bhutia told he had visited 21 schools so far and he finds Lok Dara School making an impact in CCE system under Regu BAC.
Talking about the Mid Day Meal Scheme, Assistant Director instructed the school authority to display mid day meal menu chart on the notice board. It was also directed to form a Mother-Teacher Association to check the quality of the mid day meal. It was further informed to the head of the schools to maintain records of mid day meal in register copy. SSA Grant for all the schools was also presented on the occasion. An amount of Rs 500 given for Teachers Grant to afford Teaching Learning Materials while for major School Maintenance Grant, Head of the school should discuss with the SMC members was also told.
Information on registrations of schools under HRDD, Government of Sikkim should be informed to the department, Bhutia added. He further said On Duty Leave for teachers and Head Masters should have sufficient reasons. Additional teachers and additional infrastructure for the school should be based on per sanction strength and enrollment, added Bhutia. He praised the effort of Prakash Poudyal, Mina Sharma, Leena Chamling and Krishna Dawari, CRCs for their dedication and requested the gathered Head of schools to cooperate with them. Bhutia further said Prakash Poudyal and Krishna Dawari are the pride of Regu BAC in reference with their performance in CCE.
AD said strict action shall be taken against the teachers who are regarded as unfit as per circular issued by the Department. On the completion of 100 days target on July 31 2011, performance reports of every school should be prepared, he urged. CM’s visit to Chujachen constituency on June 13-14 and June 20 was also informed at the end of the program.
