World environment day was observed on grand manner at Nagi Dara, Namthang South Sikkim. The chief Guest of the programme was Shri Kumar Tamang Social activist of the Area, Zilla Panchayat Member, Panchayat President, Panchayat Secretaries, all the Panchayat members, NGOs and the general public of Namthang Rateypani constituency has attended the programme. Shri Robin P Sewa, BDO Namthang was the special Guest of the programme. At morning all the participants planted each plant of Azalia flowering plant in the surrounding area of Nagi Pokhari.
The main focus of the programme was on the theme of this year “Forest: Nature at Your Service” in this occasion on behalf of BAC Namthang, Panchayat of Namthang , General Public of Namthang honored the dedicated officer of Forest Department he is Mr. Choten Lepcha, B.O (T) Namthang Range.
As he was the dynamic officer in the area and has done quite outstanding performance in the field of his primary Duty with well disciplined.
BDO, Namthang has addressed the gathering for water conservation through “DHARA VIKASH” programme and it will conserve our forest along with water bodies of the area, because these days scarcity of water is everywhere through this programme then we can definitely conserve the water and give the beautiful life to coming generation.
